Feeding Guide

Age of Baby Pre-boiled Lukewarm Water (ml) Level Scoops Feeds in 24 Hours
6-9 Months 180 3 4-5
9-12 Months 240 4 3-4

3 scoops (1 scoop equivalent to 8.5g) of powder added to 180ml of potable previously boiled lukewarm water. Each bottle should be prepared individually. This is a guide only. Your baby may need more or less than indicated. Ideally, formula should be prepared just prior to feeding. Otherwise, refrigerate prepared formula and use within 24 hours.

Solid foods should be offered from 6 months. This product should not be used for babies aged under 6 months.

Wash hands before preparing formula. Sterilise all utensils by boiling in water or using an approved sterilizer.
Boil drinking water and allow to cool until lukewarm. Measure the required amount of cooled, boiled water into sterilized feeding bottle. Warm to feeding temperature.
Use only the enclosed scoop. Fill scoop lightly, level off using the built-in leveller. Do not compact the powder into the scoop.
Add one level scoop of powder for each 60ml of water. Cap the bottle and shake briskly to dissolve the powder.
Test temperature on wrist and feed immediately. Discard any unfinished formula.

Note: Prepare each bottle only as needed. It is safer to use immediately after preparation. Where made up formula is stored prior to use it must be refrigerated and if unused, discard within 24 hours.

IMPORTANT STATEMENT Benefits of breast milkPlease read and agree before continuing to our Optigold site.

Breastfeeding is best for babies. Breast milk contains all the nutrients and antibodies needed for the growth and development of your baby. It is important to maintain good nutrition in preparation for and during breastfeeding.

Infant formula is designed to assist infants when breast milk is not available. When considering infant formula, always seek advice from your Healthcare professional as breastfeeding can be negatively affected if partial bottle feeding is introduced such as reduction in breast milk supply and reversing the decision may be difficult.

Infant formula must be prepared and used as per instructions. Improper use of infant formula such as change in proportion size unless otherwise advised on medical advice. Not properly sterilising equipment or properly boiling water can make your baby ill. Consider all financial and social implications when choosing an alternative feeding method for your baby.
